Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Spanish Beggars by Ernest Martin Hennings. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 50,549.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Martin Hennings achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian Summer in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,553,000.00 (€ 1,057,325.71).
