Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer, which included the work The Boscobel Oak by Ernest Crofts. The price achieved of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,781.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ernest Crofts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Whitehall: January 30th, 1649 in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 47,800.00 (€ 69,786.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Boscobel Oak von Ernest Crofts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.781,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ernest Crofts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Whitehall: January 30th, 1649 im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.800,00 (€ 69.786,49).
