A top price for Erik van Lieshout - as previously expected
This work without title by Erik van Lieshout was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 22,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Erik van Lieshout that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Erik van Lieshout wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 22.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Erik van Lieshout, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
