Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Gent by Erich Heckel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 28,000.00 (€ 19,063.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Erich Heckel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blühende Apfelbäume in February 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,508,750.00 (€ 1,704,340.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Gent von Erich Heckel im November 2007 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 28.000,00 (€ 19.063,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Erich Heckel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blühende Apfelbäume im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.508.750,00 (€ 1.704.340,14).
