Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Blind Window #3, 1981-83 by Eric Orr was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,649.19). Admittedly, works by Eric Orr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Other Side of Green, 1988 in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 27,812.50 (€ 23,119.29).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Blind Window #3, 1981-83 von Eric Orr im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.649,19) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eric Orr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Other Side of Green, 1988 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.812,50 (€ 23.119,29).
