This artwork by Eric Orr achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work 3XXAYS, 1990 sold for USD 9,562.50 (€ 8,661.68) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eric Orr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Other Side of Green, 1988, which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 27,812.50 (€ 23,119.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eric Orr erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art wurde die Arbeit 3XXAYS, 1990 für USD 9.562,50 (€ 8.661,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eric Orr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Other Side of Green, 1988 beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 27.812,50 (€ 23.119,29) versteigert wurde.
