The »bidding war« ended at EUR 450.00 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ercole Pignatelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vaso rosso in May 2007 with an auction result of EUR 19,840.00.

Die Arbeit Nudo sul bordo della piscina von Ercole Pignatelli wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei Il Ponte versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 450,00 und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ercole Pignatelli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vaso rosso im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 19.840,00.
