Despite a disappointment, a good price for Enrique Serra y Auque
In June 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Spanish on The Terrace by Enrique Serra y Auque for GBP 169,250.00 (€ 205,823.75). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Spanish on The Terrace is the most expensive artwork by Enrique Serra y Auque that we have observed at auction so far.
