Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Dine With Me by Emmanuel Taku was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 18,900.00 (€ 19,319.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emmanuel Taku achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sisters in Lilac in March last year with an auction result of GBP 214,200.00 (€ 253,958.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Dine With Me von Emmanuel Taku im September letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 18.900,00 (€ 19.319,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emmanuel Taku erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sisters in Lilac im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 214.200,00 (€ 253.958,21).
