Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Emily Mason was sold in the Contemporary Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,562.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Mason achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Like Frost Upon a Glass in November last year with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 97,646.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Emily Mason wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art | New York bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.562,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Mason erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Like Frost Upon a Glass im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 97.646,03).
