Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work The Studio (Rats and Wheat) by Emily Mae Smith. The price achieved of HKD 1,260,000.00 (€ 151,024.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Emily Mae Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Broom Life in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 12,350,000.00 (€ 1,341,530.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Studio (Rats and Wheat) von Emily Mae Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.260.000,00 (€ 151.024,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emily Mae Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Broom Life im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.350.000,00 (€ 1.341.530,22).
