Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Studio (Horror Vacui) by Emily Mae Smith was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in association with Yongle auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 630,000.00 (€ 78,177.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Mae Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Broom Life in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 12,350,000.00 (€ 1,341,530.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Studio (Horror Vacui) von Emily Mae Smith wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in association with Yongle bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 630.000,00 (€ 78.177,86) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Mae Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Broom Life im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.350.000,00 (€ 1.341.530,22).
