This artwork by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in December 2019. In the Aboriginal Art auction, the work Untitled (Alhalkere) sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,587.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Aboriginal Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Alhalkere) für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.587,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
