Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Kame Colour by Emily Kame Kngwarreye was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 81,000.00 (€ 45,859.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Kame Kngwarreye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Celebration in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 596,000.00 (€ 530,863.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Kame Colour von Emily Kame Kngwarreye kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 81.000,00 (€ 45.859,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Kame Kngwarreye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Celebration im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 596.000,00 (€ 530.863,10).
