Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Two Klee Wyck Painted Ceramic Sculptures; Thunderbird And Killer Whale by Emily Carr. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 18,000.00 – 24,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 19,200.00 (€ 14,727.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Carr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Skedans in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,260,000.00 (€ 2,958,526.18).
