Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunlight In The Forest by Emily Carr was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 700,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 750,000.00 (€ 575,299.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Emily Carr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Skedans in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,260,000.00 (€ 2,958,526.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sunlight In The Forest von Emily Carr kam im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 700.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 750.000,00 (€ 575.299,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Emily Carr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Skedans im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.260.000,00 (€ 2.958.526,18).
