Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Forest Interior by Emily Carr. The price achieved of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 51,337.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emily Carr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Skedans in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,260,000.00 (€ 2,958,526.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forest Interior von Emily Carr zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 71.500,00 (€ 51.337,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emily Carr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Skedans im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.260.000,00 (€ 2.958.526,18).
