Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Hierogrammate, The Pharaoh'S Scribe by Émile-Louis Picault was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,637.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Émile-Louis Picault have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Priest And The Scribe in April 2020 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 143,792.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit French Hierogrammate, The Pharaoh'S Scribe von Émile-Louis Picault wurde im November 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.637,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Émile-Louis Picault auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Priest And The Scribe im April 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 143.792,79).
