This artwork by Émile-Louis Picault achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2020. In the The Orientalist Sale auction, the work The Priest And The Scribe sold for GBP 125,000.00 (€ 143,792.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00.
