Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work The Interior Of The Oude Kerk In Delft, From The South Aisle To The Crossing, Towards The Noth-East, During The Preaching Of A Sermon by Emanuel de Witte. The price achieved of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 391,208.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Other works by Emanuel de Witte have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2021 the work Interior of the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, with a trompe l'oeil curtain and frame was auctioned for GBP 500,000.00 (€ 596,395.12).
