Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Emanuel de Witte achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2018. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Interior Of A Gothic Protestant Church sold for GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,289.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emanuel de Witte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior of the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, with a trompe l'oeil curtain and frame, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 500,000.00 (€ 596,395.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Emanuel de Witte erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Interior Of A Gothic Protestant Church für GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.289,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Emanuel de Witte mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior of the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam, with a trompe l'oeil curtain and frame beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 500.000,00 (€ 596.395,12) versteigert wurde.
