Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Red Line by Elwyn Augustus Lynn. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,728.48), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elwyn Augustus Lynn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Thirty-Five, which sold at auction in August 2001 for AUD 12,925.00 (€ 7,503.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red Line von Elwyn Augustus Lynn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 4.700,00 (€ 2.728,48) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Elwyn Augustus Lynn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Thirty-Five beobachtet, die im August 2001 für AUD 12.925,00 (€ 7.503,33) versteigert wurde.
