Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Counterfit by Ellen Gallagher was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2018. It achieved a price of USD 175,000.00 (€ 154,552.68), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Ellen Gallagher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Deluxe in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 987,750.00 (€ 760,509.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Counterfit von Ellen Gallagher kam im November 2018 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 154.552,68) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ellen Gallagher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Deluxe im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 987.750,00 (€ 760.509,70).
