Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Madonna Con Bambino E San Giovannino by Elisabetta Sirani was auctioned at Sothebys in Milan in June 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 16,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elisabetta Sirani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portia Wounding Her Thigh in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 340,273.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Madonna Con Bambino E San Giovannino von Elisabetta Sirani kam im Juni 2009 bei Sothebys in Mailand zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 16.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elisabetta Sirani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portia Wounding Her Thigh im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 340.273,57).
