Upper estimate price exceeded by 58 %.
In August 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian Study For 'On The Murrumbidgee' by Elioth Gruner. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 87,000.00 (€ 51,149.02), 58% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Elioth Gruner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Australian Mingoola Valley sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of AUD 150,000.00 (€ 92,232.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
