Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Elioth Gruner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Australian Autumn, Manar sold for AUD 38,400.00 (€ 23,415.45) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 16,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elioth Gruner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Mingoola Valley, which sold at auction in May 2007 for AUD 150,000.00 (€ 92,232.22).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Elioth Gruner erzielte im November 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Australian Autumn, Manar für AUD 38.400,00 (€ 23.415,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 16.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elioth Gruner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Mingoola Valley beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für AUD 150.000,00 (€ 92.232,22) versteigert wurde.
