Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Night Car (Calcification) by Eliot Greenwald was auctioned at Phillips in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,556.00 (€ 4,148.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eliot Greenwald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Night Car (Tall Tree) in June 2021 with an auction result of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 54,747.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Night Car (Calcification) von Eliot Greenwald im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.556,00 (€ 4.148,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eliot Greenwald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Night Car (Tall Tree) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 54.747,47).
