Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Elihu Vedder could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Le Mistral changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,882.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elihu Vedder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Marsyas (Marsyas Enchanting The Hares) in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 71,195.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elihu Vedder konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Le Mistral für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.882,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elihu Vedder erzielen.
