Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Longchamp by Elie Lambert. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,845.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elie Lambert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deauville, Clairefontaine, which sold at auction in December 2015 for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,974.40).
