The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,730.84), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Elie Lambert; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Deauville, Clairefontaine sold at auction in December 2015 with the realized price of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,974.40).
