Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Wandering Through The Irises by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,634.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work And all generations shall call her blessed in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 44,683.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wandering Through The Irises von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.634,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eleanor Fortescue Brickdale erzielen.
