Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The World Words Series (Religion As Weapon) by Eko Nugroho was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,970.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Eko Nugroho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,054.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The World Words Series (Religion As Weapon) von Eko Nugroho wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.970,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eko Nugroho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.054,58).
