Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale, which included the work Life Is A Trick by Eko Nugroho. The price achieved of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,388.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 170,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eko Nugroho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy), which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,054.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Life Is A Trick von Eko Nugroho zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.388,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 170.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eko Nugroho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seneng Kuwi Larang Regane (Happiness is Expensive to Buy) beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.054,58) versteigert wurde.
