Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shapes In The Sitting Room; And A Quantity of Sketchbooks And Further Drawings by Eileen Bell was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 797.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eileen Bell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work House Boats At Low Tide, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,011.68).
