It achieved a price of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Admittedly, works by Eglon van der Neer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Lady Playing A Lute In An Interior in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 912,000.00 (€ 722,433.46).

Die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with Semiramis receiving the crown from Ninus, the King of Assyria von Eglon van der Neer kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 164.383,56) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eglon van der Neer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Lady Playing A Lute In An Interior im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 912.000,00 (€ 722.433,46).
