Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work The King Drinks by Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder. The price achieved of GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,551.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Doctor'S Surgery, which sold at auction in January 2020 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,341.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit The King Drinks von Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.551,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Doctor'S Surgery beobachtet, die im Januar 2020 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.341,84) versteigert wurde.
