Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Quakers' Meeting by Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,325.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Doctor'S Surgery in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,341.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Quakers' Meeting von Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.325,79) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Egbert van Heemskerck the Elder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Doctor'S Surgery im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.341,84).
