Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Edwin Lord Weeks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Paris in June this year. In the India in Art auction, the work The Steps of the Wazir Khan Mosque, Lahore sold for GBP 86,760.00 (€ 100,973.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edwin Lord Weeks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the courtyard in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 687,664.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edwin Lord Weeks erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion India in Art wurde die Arbeit The Steps of the Wazir Khan Mosque, Lahore für GBP 86.760,00 (€ 100.973,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00.
