Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art: Part 1, which included the work Entering the Mosque by Edwin Lord Weeks. The price achieved of GBP 478,800.00 (€ 540,518.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Other works by Edwin Lord Weeks have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2008 the work In the courtyard was auctioned for GBP 541,250.00 (€ 687,664.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art: Part 1 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Entering the Mosque von Edwin Lord Weeks zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 478.800,00 (€ 540.518,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Edwin Lord Weeks konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2008 die Arbeit In the courtyard für GBP 541.250,00 (€ 687.664,22) versteigert.
