Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Procession by Edwin Lord Weeks was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,341.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Lord Weeks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the courtyard in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 687,664.22).

Die Arbeit The Procession von Edwin Lord Weeks wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.341,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
