Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Native Gharry, or Cart by Edwin Lord Weeks was sold in the European Art auction at Christies in New York in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,033.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Lord Weeks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the courtyard in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 687,664.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Native Gharry, or Cart von Edwin Lord Weeks wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.033,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
