Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2019 Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work Indian Dancing Girl by Edwin Lord Weeks. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,507.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Lord Weeks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the courtyard in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 687,664.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian Dancing Girl von Edwin Lord Weeks zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.507,63) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Lord Weeks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In the courtyard im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 541.250,00 (€ 687.664,22).
