In February this year Christies in London held the auction An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House, which included the work The Three Graces; and A good ratter by Edwin Loder of Bath. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,586.96), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edwin Loder of Bath - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A chestnut hunter; and A brown hunter in a stable, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 3,407.50 (€ 5,270.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion An Opulent Aesthetic: An Important Private Collection from an English Country House durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Three Graces; and A good ratter von Edwin Loder of Bath zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.586,96) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edwin Loder of Bath mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A chestnut hunter; and A brown hunter in a stable beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 3.407,50 (€ 5.270,63) versteigert wurde.
