This artwork by Edwin Harris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2006. In the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction, the work Portrait of An Old Man sold for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,365.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 130,250.00 (€ 216,371.16).

In der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures wurde die Arbeit Portrait of An Old Man für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.365,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Harris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 130.250,00 (€ 216.371,16).
