Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a girl, bust-length, in a pale blue dress with a chiffon shawl, wearing a straw hat by Edwin Harris was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,688.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Harris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under The Blossom That Hangs On The Bough in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 130,250.00 (€ 216,371.16).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a girl, bust-length, in a pale blue dress with a chiffon shawl, wearing a straw hat von Edwin Harris kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.688,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Harris erzielen.
