Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Zabriskie Point, Death Valley by Edward Weston. The price achieved of USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zabriskie Point, Death Valley von Edward Weston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
