Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nautilus Shell by Edward Weston was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 6,048.00 (€ 5,235.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
