The work By the Road by Edward Wesson was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 446.50 (€ 729.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Admittedly, works by Edward Wesson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thames barges racing on the estuary in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).

Die Arbeit By the Road von Edward Wesson kam im Dezember 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 729,52) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Wesson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68).
