Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work The rolling countryside by Edward Wesson. The price achieved of GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,535.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wesson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Thames barges racing on the estuary, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The rolling countryside von Edward Wesson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.535,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Wesson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68) versteigert wurde.
