It achieved a price of GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,167.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edward Wesson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Thames barges racing on the estuary, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,702.68).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.434,00 (€ 2.167,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Für andere Arbeiten von Edward Wesson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Thames barges racing on the estuary beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.702,68) versteigert wurde.
